About Us and Artists Page Update! - 06.11.09
The About Us! and Artists pages have been updated. The former now has profiles for Halo, Dr. Deranged and Starman that are entertaining if somewhat factually inaccurate. The Artists page is a new section that allows us to profile and link to other artistic people who are friends of Pipoca Bizarre if not actually a part of the company, technically speaking.
So... yeah, he said in his best Eddie Izzard voice as he waited for everyone to go click on the links.
Lolita Photo Shoot! - 06.10.09
On a non-A-KON-related note, I just finished my first Lolita photo shoot (photos taken by Light of The Misery Loves Company, with Dark posing in the pictures with Katie, KC and I), and those pictures will be posted soon!
Holy Cheese! (A-KON 2009) - 06.09.09
With the help of some friends (shout out to KC, Emily, Katie, Starman, Teresa, Saturn, and my dad), I was able to get ready for A-KON just in time! I met a lot of cool new people, and I got to hang out with some old friends. We had our first Artist's Alley collaborative coloring book this year, which I helped contribute to (along with Frostyshark, Silvernomiko, Quatrina, LoExpectations, and Ladre). I got to meet tachiik and we quickly became fans of each other's work. I bought an adorable angry bunny plushie and some art from her, and she drew a couple of awesome pictures of me (BAGEL RINGS!!!). Quatrina, Doc and I shared a booth this year. Doc and I gave out some free comic books with a selection of our webcomics. This was Doc's first year at A-KON. If you're not familiar with Doc, visit Deranged Comics; his comics are like drilling a whole into your head and filling it with Candy.
Friday night, I performed with my beloved RHPS shadow-cast, Los Bastardos. We performed SIX (!!!) preshows this year, a first in LB history (I think...). The six preshows we performed were a Final Fantasy Sword Fight (in which I played Sephiroth), Night of Fire (I was the girl in pink, DUH), Men in Tights (yay break!), Cell Block Tango (I was Mona), Zydrate Anatomy (as Amber Sweet), and Disturbia (as a Silent Hill nurse). I know this sounds cheesy, but I waited TWELVE YEARS to duel Cloud as Sephiroth and KILL HIM. This was mine and Cody's first attempt at making a lengthy choreographed sword fight. Men in Tights is effing hilarious, ALWAYS. The show went really well, the audience was energetic, the A-KON people were really good to us. Our cast director Madame Leah made sure that we got our shit together and that we had an amazing spread backstage (yay food!). I barely got any sleep that night, I was so excited.
Saturday, I had to wake up early to judge at the maid contest with Rachel (check out her store at www.escaperealityclothing.biz). There were prizes and trophies, some adorable costumes, and I even gave out some plushies from my shop to the winners. I popped in on Anime Hell to take some pictures of Katie (aka Hell Nurse Katie). This guy in Artist's Alley was selling posters of a drawing he did of Hell Nurse Katie, so I had to buy one. I decided to stay up all night, so I took a 1 hour nap, and came back down to prepare for Sunday morning!
On Sunday, the lady from La De Da's traded some plushies and cute things from my table in exchange for my new pink fuzzy bunny hat (it's so effing cute!). I got to do some fun art trades with Diana Sprinkle (check my review here). This random new guy kept up with me all night Saturday night and told me an awesome story which will be turned into a comic and posted soon; sorry, but I can't find your name right now, but it'll be posted when I post the comic!! Doc and I met two people who are readers of our comics (yay!). The Taco King himself helped promote my table and brought a lot of traffic. Rob from Cyanide and Happiness drew me a comic which will be scanned and posted soon with his permission (ZOMBIE KITTY!).
I took a LOT of pictures this year that will be posted in the upcoming A-KON 2009 gallery! There are a lot of pictures of cosplayers and lolitas, so check it out, there may be pictures of YOU! Also some guy took a picture of me with a giant Squid plushie and put it on his website (to be posted later). Thanks to everyone who came to visit us at A-KON, and we hope to see you at Animefest!
Hello To All Our New A-Kon Friends! - 05.29.09
Hello. Welcome to Pipoca Bizarre! Home of Glitch and the finest fandom accessories this side of Japan!

New Old Comic! - 05.12.09
Starman the Web Master here again (bow before me Web Slaves! BWAHAHAHA!), to point out the new old
comic that is now gracing this index page.
Yes, the above comic is a sort of proto-Glitch. That is, it is a comic called Glitch which was made
in the days when Halo wasn't quite sure how Glitch would play out, save that a character was based
on her. Kinda. I really can't explain that except to say that Death by Turkey Leg is more bad-ass
than Death By Chocolate although not quite so cool as Death By Tray.
Thank you Eddie Izzard!
What's New at Pipoca Bizarre? - 05.11.09
Answer: LOTS!
First, we have a new reviews section where Halo has a review of a wonderful comic that inspired
her to create her own comics. Just click on the Reviews button directly above the news
or on the buttons on the left.
And speaking of the buttons on the left, you may have noticed they look a bit smaller and a bit more colofrful.
That's because we have redone the buttons to give us a little more room on the left for other things, such as links
and advertisements.
Take a look around the place. And as always, if you see anything a little screwy, drop me a line so I can fix it.
